The 2025 Lady Hawks Volleyball Team Will Return to the Post-season
The Lady Hawks Volleyball Team will return to the post-season in 2025 for the 19th time in the past 23 seasons. The team is led by Pamela Dejesus Tejedor who is first in the conference in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set. Another standout is Eva Rovello who is 2nd in the conference in assists per set.
In the last 4 matches, the Lady Hawks defeated then ranked Eastern Florida State College, narrowly lost by 3 points in set 5 to #3 in the nation Miami Dade College, defeated Santa Fe, and defeated #16 Daytona State.
"We are peaking at the right time," said Coach Larkin. "They have worked hard to narrow the gap against the best teams in the nation, and they are ready to battle the state tournament."
The Lady Hawks offense is balanced, and the trio of by Pamela Dejesus Tejedor, Emilia Arvidson, and Ida Almkvist often post double-digit kills. The underlying strength of the Lady Hawks, however, may be the serving and blocking.
"The team has really bought into the blocking and serving philosophies, and both have become weapons for us," continued Larkin.
The Lady Hawks will find out their first-round opponent this week. Should they win two matches in a row at the FCSAA State tournament starting November 7th, the Lady Hawks could see their 9th trip to the NJCAA national championships.
